The Group's review authors, supported by staff at the editorial base, produce systematic reviews of randomised and quasi-randomised controlled trials of interventions for:

1. the primary and secondary prevention of fractures, dislocations, and soft tissue injuries of the appendicular skeleton and associated soft tissues, and the prevention of complications or adverse effects of treatment;
2. the management (treatment and rehabilitation) of people with fractures, dislocations, and soft tissue injuries of the appendicular skeleton and associated soft tissues.

We are happy to take on other reviews in the musculoskeletal field which fall into the above scope, or that of other Groups after contact and negotiation.

Duplication will be avoided by liaison with other entities with whom we have an established area of overlap, such as: the Anaesthesia, Critical and Emergency Care Group; the Injuries Group; the Neuromuscular Group; the Musculoskeletal Group; the Pain, Palliative Care and Supportive Care Group; the Vascular Group, and the Wounds Group.
