History

History of the Cochrane Bone, Joint and Muscle Trauma Group

The Musculoskeletal Injuries Group (CMSIG) was originally established as a subgroup affiliated to the Musculoskeletal Group following an exploratory meeting on 22nd February 1995. An application in July 1998 for retrospective registration for full Group status was successful. Notice of the retrospective registration received 5th August 1998. In January 2005 external funding was obtained (from April 1 2005 for four years), conditional on the Group changing its name. The Monitoring and Registration Group (a subgroup of the Cochrane Steering Group) approved the change of name to the Bone, Joint and Muscle Trauma Group in March 2005.
